First look at Cassandra Clare’s book tour bus featuring ‘Clockwork Princess’ and ‘City of Bones’!

The first look at Cassandra Clare’s tour bus for her Clockwork Princess book tour has been revealed by Publisher’s Weekly. The book tour kicks off on March 19th, the day Clockwork Princess is released in stores. Take a look at the tour bus below:

On March 19, Clare will embark on a weeklong, eight-market tour, traveling in a wrapped bus decorated with book covers and a poster promoting the movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which opens in August. She’s looking forward to her first-ever bus tour for several reasons. “I have to admit, I hate flying,” she says, “but I think the real core idea of the bus tour is that there’s something about the on-the-ground nature of it that really builds excitement. The wrapped bus is a cross-country billboard for both the book series and the upcoming movie.” She also likes the fact that she can carry more giveaways for fans, since she’s not flying. “Plus, it makes me feel like I’m in a rock band, writing songs on the road. I’m tone-deaf, but it’s nice to dream!”

Lily Collins (Clary Fray) will be joining Cassie on March 21st at the Los Angeles stop.

Cassandra Clare recently released her Clockwork Princess bus tour dates and tells fans that special guest Lily Collins will make an appearance in LA to take pictures, sig autographs and answer questions about The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie, in theatres August 23, 2013

Cassandra Clare has been gone for a while because she was on vacation. Well she is finally back and with great new, the Clockwork Princess tour dates!!

 

“Clockwork Princess tour: March

Happy holidays, everyone!

I haven’t been posting much lately, leaving poor Sarah and Holly to do it in my place, mostly because I was on an atoll in the Indian Ocean. However I return with (I hope) excitin’ news: I finally have the info about where I’ll be going for my North American Clockwork Princess tour in March.*

(*I don’t yet know if I’ll be touring outside the US and Canada. Next year is going to be a really busy year, so I will try, but we’ll see. I’ll update when I do know that information.)

And this will not be just a regular tour, either. I’ll be traveling around the country in a fancy bus that is wrapped in graphics from Clockwork Princess and the City of Bones movie. The bus will be making stops at bookstores, schools and libraries for booksigning events. Special guests will be joining me — the co-authors of the Bane Chronicles, Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson, will be with me for quite a few of the stops: they’ll be emceeing events, helping me with trivia contests, making video diaries from the road, and in general making the tour a more fun and exciting experience. We’ll be showing the teaser trailer at the events and maybe even a bit more exclusive sneak peeks at the City of Bones movie. And there will be giveaways — art postcards, rune jewelry, and all sorts of cool stuff.

Here is the schedule and the various bookstore guidelines (rules for events are set by the stores themselves, and if you’re ever unclear on how many books you can bring to be signed, etc. please call the store and ask them!), so be sure to come out to one of the events and say hi. *This event is free and open to the public. The discussion portion of the event will take place before the book signing and will not require a wristband. In order to receive a wristband for the signing line, you must purchase a copy of Clockwork Princess from any Barnes & Noble location and present the receipt at this location to receive your wristband. Wristbands will be handed out beginning at 9:00 AM on March 19 at B&N. You may bring other books from home to have them signed as long as you have purchased Clockwork Princess and received a wristband. Each person in line is required to have a wristband.
